817 Gather at the Table — A Monthly Community Dinner Series Celebrating Local Flavor, Cultural Connection, and Grassroots Organizing
📍 Where: Rotating locally owned restaurants across Fort Worth and the rest of the 817 — each month featuring a different cuisine and neighborhood.
🍽️ What: A monthly community dinner designed to bring people together over shared meals, new flavors, and meaningful conversation.
🤝 Why: Because community doesn’t just happen — it’s built. Breaking bread together has always been one of the most powerful ways to build trust, understanding, and belonging. This is a low-pressure, high-impact way to deepen connections across lines of race, class, and neighborhood — while directly supporting small, diverse businesses and local grassroots organizing.
🗓️ When: Monthly (based on community feedback) Not everyone can make every dinner — and that’s okay. The goal is consistency, not perfection.
💡 How it works:
Each month, we’ll pick a new restaurant and cuisine.
Everyone pays for their own meal — no cost to attend, no pressure to spend big.
No agenda — just good food, good company, and good vibes.
✨ Why this matters:
Strengthens community ties across racial and geographic lines.
Centers local, diverse-owned businesses — especially those often overlooked.
Creates a regular, low-barrier ritual for connection in a time when so many feel isolated.
Models cross-cultural appreciation without appropriation — food as bridge, not spectacle.
📣 Call to Action:Let us know if you’re in for our monthly dinner. Whether you come every month or just once in a while, your presence matters.
Let’s eat, connect, and grow — one plate at a time.
