What Is Gather For Aid?
While 817 Gathers are perfect for people of all levels who want to bring change to the community, some of the action items may not be doable things for everyone. Not everyone is going to be able to speak at a city council meeting or attend the county’s commissioner’s court.
Gather For Aid is an opportunity to still be the change in the community in a way that fits your needs and schedule. Every month, we will provide mutual aid for those in need through volunteer service. Service opportunities could range from writing letters, picking up trash, or working in a community garden for a couple of hours. We will also host occasional drives, such as a food drive or a school supply drive. See the Mutual Aid page to see if we have a drive coming up.
When and where will Gather For Aid take place?
Most events will take place in Fort Worth, but we will also have some events throughout other parts of Tarrant County too.
Events can fall on any Saturday morning or Sunday afternoon during the month, so keep an eye on the calendar for the next event!
